How did Annadee’s Closet begin?
The Red Wing Clothing Shelf began when left over items from an annual garage sale ended up in a local pastor’s garage. As demand increased, the clothing shelf moved from the garage to the old Central High School
and then to the Friedrich Center on Oak Street next to the Goodhue County Historical Museum. Red Wing Area Seniors, Inc. became involved at that time.
The Red Wing Clothing Shelf adopted their new name in 2001. Annadee’s Closet combined the names of Anne Lundvall and Deloris Tubbesing, two women who had volunteered a good deal of time at the clothing shelf over the years. Annadee’s moved to 321 Potter Street in 2008 -- a much larger and more centrally located building.
